About a month ago, I moved to a new land, Virginia, a place I’ve never been. My new journey will start with this small 10ft x 10ft space. I’m learning and building an art studio day by day. The painter Chase Langford has great tips for setting up a studio.
I can’t agree more about building a lot of shelving and furniture with wheels. Since my studio is for ceramic artwork, I’ll probably need a serious ventilation system at some point. My to-do list is growing huge! I’ll update a journal of my studio making. If anyone has good tips and ideas, please feel free to post a comment. All my artist-friends and I will be thankful and enjoy that.
Japanese artist in the United States. Tamao Nakayama was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and moved to the U.S. when she was 25 years old. She is still deeply influenced by the Japanese aesthetic, and the belief that ‘less is more’. She is a minimalist abstract artist. She paints and sculpts.
